AI for Peace
In Monterrey, capital of the Mexican State of Nuevo León, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, has participated in the 19th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, entitled ‘Peace for Progress’. Archbishop Paglia has spoken about Artificial Intelligence and illustrated the activities of the Pontifical Academy for Life.
The event, closed on Saturday 21 September, was opened by Governor Samuel García and was attended by 18 personalities who have received the award over the years, including the former presidents of Poland and Costa Rica, Lech Walesa and Oscar Arias, Iranian lawyer Shrin Ebadi, Yemeni journalist, politician and activist Tawakkol Karman and Guatemalan activist Rigoberta Menchú.
Ekaterina Zagladina, president of the Permanent Secretariat of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, emphasised that the theme of the forum was in line with the characteristics of the State of Nuevo León, which has become an important technological centre of Mexico and Latin America, and emphasised the relationship between peace and progress, as ‘peace is the highest aspiration of the human being’.
The World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates was founded by Russian politician Mikhail Gorbachev and has been held in major cities around the world since 1999.
